Default How old is your computer?

Just curious. I bought RAM for my desktop the other day and it's feeling pretty fast again. I've had this computer for over 3 years and I definitely feel like it should last another 3 before I even consider replacing it, especially because it handles everything I throw at it fairly easily. Even then, chances are I'll only replace it because there will new, incredible stuff that has dropped in price substantially. I hadn't really been keeping track, but you can get staggering amounts of disk space, huge amounts of ram, all pretty cheap now.

I can only imagine the kind of computing power that will be in the hands of consumers in ten years...

Mine's less then a year old, runs everyhting I've thrown at it
Sean at CARS helped me out big time getting the parts and setting it up, think I less then $600 for everything. Quad core Athlon, ASUS board, about 2 T's of storage, 8 gig ram, GT 240, yada yada yada.

Desktop is 2-3 years old. Laptop is less than one.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.

Desktop is 4 years old and laptop is about a year old. Being that I dont run Windows (resource hog), my desktop still feels as fast as the day I built it. Its just a lowly Pentium E5200 with 2GB of RAM and a Geforce 9500GT.

Desktop is a 3 yr old quadcore with 8gb of ram and a decent video card so it still holds its own. My main laptop is 17 months old, 2.2ghz dual core with 4 gb of ram ( I'm a ram junkie, I max the usable ram on the machines I use.) 512mb of dedicated video.
Other laptop is 2 yrs old 2.0ghz dual core, 4gb of ram , 256mb dedicated video.
A 17 month old net book.
A 3 year old 1.6 dual core laptop.
A 3.5 year old 1.86 single core laptop.

Desktop was originally built in 2004 but I upgraded the processor, ram, hard drive, video card, and power supply each once in the time since. At this point it's on its last legs and will be replaced soon. It barely plays HD video and with the new HD cameras that I recently bought it will never handle video editing so I started looking at NewEgg to build something new with a Core i7.

I usually get 4-7 years out of a computer with a few upgrades during their lifetime just to keep up.
