I planned on putting a Shwartz Chassis on my First Gen Camaro and with seeing the type of problems you have I am very dissapointed in their product. What a shame.
I am bummed to hear this news as well. I thought Schwartz made a nice project: we used the front 2/3 of one of Schwartz' chassis for Murray Pfaff's 1959 Imperial Speedster:

The back 1/3 was custom, as it runs a narrowed Viper IRS. However, this was a scratch built car and the chassis was not made to fit it. Therefore, we could not access if the Schwartz Chassis was a true bolt in.
On a positive note, Murray has over 7k miles on the car without a chassis issue. The car drives and rides very well. I think you will really like your Chevelle when it is back on the road!
Great looking car!
As I mentioned, if the chassis wasn't made specifically for my car, then there wouldn't have been a peep out of me about the fitment. But, all of the front end geometry should have been correct no matter what kind of car it was for and the chassis should have at least fit under the body...
grr
Lookie what showed up today...Puttin the engine in for the final time tomorrow....
Car porn is addicting.
Installed the oilpan, dialed in the bellhousing, installed the clutch, bellhousing and trans. Installed it into the car for the final time (I think).
0.003 out max per side
All together - New M23 Trans - Universal Ford/Chev bellhousing. It came in under 0.005 TIR when I indicated on my Ford racing engine, too. Quicktime is quality.
New Kevko pan installed in the car...
Exciting pics!
Off to have Headers and Exhaust made.......
