1) You're employer fucked up - if you're not in this guy's chain of command, they shouldn't have told you.
2) Don't stick your nose in other peoples business at work. To me, that's up there with 'dipping your pen in company ink.' You're just asking for trouble.
3) If you still feel the right thing to do is tell him after reading 1 & 2, have someone slap you in the face and someone else kick you in the balls at the same time. Then know, you'll feel 100x worse if you lose your job because you couldn't keep your mouth shut.
Absolutely not. Part of being responsible is knowing when to keep your mouth shut. There are plenty of things I can't blab about at work. Your employer is entrusting you with certain information and it's your professional responsibility to not repeat what what they don't want repeated. It's really that simple.
It would be totally unethical to repeat something told to you in confidence..
i wouldnt say anything, it will give him less chance to make his plan to kill everyone at your work on monday morning, these are fucked up times and people are having a very hard time copeing with all the jobs going by the wayside, if you care for him just give him a call on monday after work and make sure he's ok
Blowing shit up!!!
keep quiet

That's how I roll.
